Mustard, Hot Pink, Turquoise by Kristine

Scarf: Forever 21
Belt: J.Crew Factory
Blouse: Forever 21
Dress: Betsey Johnson
Shoes: Steve Madden via Last Chance (similar)

This outfit was worn a few months ago when my hair was long enough to wear the blogger bun and when it was warm enough for bare legs. But I figured since Elaine is rocking so many warm weather looks, you guys wouldn’t mind if I shared one, right?
Anyway, this outfit features one of my absolute favorite color schemes lately – mustard, hot pink, and turquoise. (Don’t spot the turquoise? Check out my nails!) I love how bright and happy it all is. Also, I really like this silhouette that I tried out – a bit baggy on top, and form-fitting on the bottom. And last thing: can I just say how every girl should own a pair of nude pumps? They can go with anything, seriously.

Chase and I were late for church (Wow, that’s like the umpteenth time. We’re total sinners, I know.) again so I needed something fast and NOW. An LBD always works! and pearls! and red lips! and a bun! I think that’s why I don’t wear this LBD more often…because you really don’t need a lot for it to work and that’s so simple for me it’s too hard, okay!! I know you guys are rolling your eyes at me… Stop it!

I’m wearing a Calvin Klein dress ($22), faux pearl necklaces ($5, $.75), and JCPenney pumps (free).

The Not-So-Bold Mixer

I originally wore this polka-dot top with my striped skirt because I wanted to “try new things” – isn’t that what fashion blogging is about? …but then I chickened out at work and changed into a spare white t-shirt I had in my gym bag. It might have even been a little smelly. But that’s not important. I definitely felt more comfortable in a t-shirt than in this bold mix of patterns. Which one are you? The bold mixer or the play-it-safer?

I’m wearing a JCPenney scarf (free), JCPenney top (free), Forever 21 skirt ($6), thrifted wedges ($10), and vintage bag ($15).
