I wore this casual get-up a couple weekends ago when we had a sleepover at my in-laws’ house. We go there a few times each month and sometimes stay the night because it’s our second home…and they have a pool…and stocked fridge and pantry…and cable. It’s like, why did we leave again?? (To backtrack, we lived with them for a few months earlier this year while I was recovering from a C-section and so we’d have more time finding an apartment for our new family of tres.)

I realized right after I put this outfit on that I wore the same tank top and light blazer as I did here:

It just¬†goes¬†together, you know? And by “goes“, I mean that blazer is the lightest covering I have for this kind of weather. Come on…..FALL!
So I guess you can consider the outfit below as a casual after-church version??

K, moving on to the newest addition to my closet….these straight leg jeans. My very first pair. I’m calling them The New Boyfriend Jeans. They’re just as comfy but with a more fitted leg, so it doesn’t look like you’re actually wearing your boyfriend’s jeans. And they’re kind of my favorite right now and forever.

Hey! My¬†thredUP¬†code is still active! 35% off¬†and¬†free shipping for new customers when you use¬†CM35.Oh, and here are some pics of my baby in a hat because I couldn’t get enough of him on¬†my Insta. <3

And some more.¬†Story: ¬†My father-in-law thrifted this tiny armchair and bought it for Grey!! It’s the perfect size for him to lounge and watch his Saturday morning cartoons once a month and demand his milk. Please tell me I’m not the only one who sees a future teenage Grey.. Someone stop time!!!! :(:( I’m not ready.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND! Try not to die in this heat. For me.

How to Look Good in Mom-Shorts

Despite my¬†past endeavor¬†in trying knee-length shorts, I didn’t want it to be a one-time thing since I’m all about modesty or something. Here are three more looks with my mom-shorts:

I paired my gray shorts with my yellow striped top. I always thought gray and yellow looked great together. Then I added my blue sequin flats…because blue and yellow go together too. At the last minute, I threw on my pearl necklaces that you can’t see here but I really am wearing them.

Gap Outlet tee, $7; Gap shorts, $11; Report sequin flats, $14; faux pearl necklace, $5; secondhand white necklace, $.75

That sweet husband of mine sure knows how to capture me at my prettiest. This is my favorite look of the three. The trick is to make sure the shirt is fitted to offset the loose shorts. I could have rolled up my sleeves but I thought with that and the shorts rolled up would make me look like I was on Gilligan’s Island. I added some black and gold to the mix to make it a classic look.

secondhand NY&C shirt; F21 necklace, $8; thrifted belt, $1; Gap shorts, $11; flats from the Philippines, $7

I wore this yesterday. I like teals and blues with gray hues. I also like yellow with teals/blues. And you know I had to add sequins in…

secondhand F21 tee, $7; yellow bauble necklace; Gap shorts, $11; F21 sequin flats, $5
  • Try shorts with a looser fit and roll up the hems.
  • Wear fitted tops.
  • Make it feminine – I added necklaces and sequins. Make sure your necklaces complement the neckline of your top too. For instance, you don’t want to wear a choker necklace with a top with a low neckline. Or if you do, that’s cool.
  • Pair your shorts with complementary colors…especially if you don’t want the focus to be on your bottom half.

Collection B¬†faux leather jacket, $55 (similar); necklace via sample sale, $5; secondhand¬†JCPenney¬†shirt via yard sale, $1 (similar);¬†Levi’s¬†modern demi curve¬†skinny¬†jeans, $70;¬†We Love Colors¬†socks;¬†Franco Sarto¬†wedge booties, $32 (similar)

And my black streak¬†continues! I loved wearing this. Can you tell from the pictures? I think it’s my NEW BLACK JEANS. Ahh!!!!! I finally retired my¬†J Brands¬†in my¬†shop¬†(Thanks, Lauren!) and bought a new pair of black skinnies.

I recently heard about¬†Levi’s new Curve ID jeans¬†and had to try them out. I have small hips, a huge butt, and short legs so it’s hard to find anything that fits me perfectly. I end up using the¬†Instant Button¬†on all my pants. So I was intrigued by these diverse curvylicious jeans. I went to a Levi’s store and tried on a million pairs in various curve jeans because I didn’t know which one I was. After an hour of frustration, I finally had someone measure me. Why I didn’t do that before is a mystery even to me. Well, I found out I’m a¬†Demi Curve! ..and my butt looks¬†marvelous.

  • The jeans aren’t as skinny as I had wanted so I skinnied them myself.
  • The quality is¬†no where¬†near J Brands.
  • This pair fits me a lot better. My thighs are happy. My waist doesn’t gape in the back.
  • My wallet thanks me.

So it’s a lose-lose-win^2-win, which is still a win to me.

Have any of you tried out the Curve jeans? Which curve are you?
