Sneaker Outfits Inspiration

Gonna be walking a lot tomorrow (today) and needed some sneaker outfit inspiration. I also need sneakers.

UPDATE:  I ended up wearing the outfit below after finding these images online. I also wore this jacket but didn’t take a pic with it. I was pretty happy with how this turned out considering I hate athletic sneakers as regular attire. This may have changed my mind…but only if I can buy new kicks.

beanie c/o SLiM MotifTarget men’s sweater, $8; Hane’s men’s shirt, $9 for 8-pack; J Brand jeans, $158; Asics sneakers, $85 (similar); Michael Kors bag

Texture by Melissa

After that mess of style and color that was my last outfit post I had to class it up, so I eliminated color from my outfit palette (whimper). Honestly, that one is a hard one for me. I am not one to wear all black/gray. But, that did leave me with a chance to emphasize some fun textures in my closet!

Loved pairing this chunky textured sweater with a smooth satin ribbon (which I saved from a lovely wrapped wedding gift)!

I offset the soft, cotton, black dress with some patterned black tights and kept the black going in my t-strap wedges to show off the silver beads down my shoes. I even broke one of my own rules — no tights with open toed shoes.

Okay, so maybe black/grey scale isn’t that boring. How do you texture?

Hang loose…in flats

This outfit goes against my rules of not tucking and belting. It was so hard to resist but not really because it’s also really comfortable to let everything hang loose.

I’ve decided on a flats policy. It’s not because of anything remotely amazing like Kyla’s philosophy… My calves have just been so sore lately because I’ve been wearing heels a lot and I sit all day – it only makes sense. So….this is officially flats day #1. I can tell this is going to get old fast. I only have like three pairs of flats.

Don’t forget… The pearl bracelet and earring set giveaway is still going on. You have a bajillion extra chances to win so you’ll basically win. That’s only 232349% true. Follow me with bloglovin’ to get one of the said bajillion extra chances.

I’m wearing a Gap gray sweater ($12 – buy it!), JCPenney orange necklace (free with gift cards – buy it!), Forever 21 black pleated skirt (gift from my sister-in-law), and H&M black flats ($13) with an MNG by Mango black bag (free with gift cards).
